You never fully appreciate someone until he/she is gone. Ive heard this oh so many times, felt it on more than one occassion, yet somehow, for some unexplained reasons, it's just not possible to fully appreciate someone until he or she is truly gone.

"He or she leaving would result in nothing more than an empty room," I thought. And i was right.

It resulted in an empty room ...... but i'm in it.

marzuki,

i came across an interesting Blog which had this entry:

"But if anything is to go by, I am confident that the strength of our friendship and shared experiences will bind us together still - for a long time to come. Meeting and parting are incidents in the journey of Life, but for those who hold on, these are just a matter of time, space and distance."

if your friend is still around, then make the most of the time you have left before he goes overseas.

no matter what, despite the empty room, the now-boring-working hours, the now-no-kaki for lunch etc etc - when he is in your heart and prayers, he will always be near you.

God takes care of the physical distance - we take charge of what we carry in our hearts :)

There is this apt quotation which I think is relevant:

"The flower fades, but the fragrance lingers in the hearts of all those who touched it" ... from The Writings on the Water by Muhyidin Shakor
